How do you get to the screen were you edit the wavy thing that's in the note? (*forgets what it's called*)

I believe the wavy thing you are referring to is the vibrato. Make sure UTAU is in Mode2, right click on the note you want and click "Pitch". Then check "Vibrato" and there will be a wavy thing on the note :)

You can edit the note when the "Pitch" window is still up or when it's already on the note.

ok. right click on the note you want and I think the option you want is "ピッチ" if I am not mistaken. select the second check mark and click ok.

I have a question. You see I've just started learning how to read music, but I'm bad with pitches. (Like EGBDF and keys like that...)
I don't know where to put the lyric at and I also don't know how long the UTAU should hold the note... (Thats why I'm so dependent on MIDIs, VSQs, and USTs.)

Well, it's kinda hard to explain. It's best to know how to play the piano in order to use UTAU/Vocaloid since they have a keyboard on the side. If you know which note makes which pitch by playing the piano, it helps a whole lot. Reading music is more for just playing songs on the piano and/or making your own songs. In Vocaloid/UTAU, they give you where the Cs are (C3, C4, C5, etc.) if you know what C sounds like, you can count up or down to find the desired pitch. (C,C#,D,D#,E,E#,etc.)

I might make something that might help since it's a lot to explain. I'll link it to you when I'm done :)

Yeah it would help if I knew how to play, but I'm broke and and can't afford either a tutor or the actual keyboard to learn on... I know where the keys are on the scale, but if you played a random key to me on the piano, I couldn't identify it... (You see my music teacher didn't teach us how to do that.)

Thank you, and please do link it when your done because I need as much help as I can get...

i think the reason why your teacher didn't teach that is she/he doesn't want you to form bad habits when playing the piano. this involves memorizing instead of site reading and looking at the piano rather than the music sheet. sadly, i have developed those bad habits ^^;

Thank you! ^-^

I'm just gonna try to memorize the keys and hope I develop good habits later on when I do get a piano. (You see I'm trying to study music and I was hoping UTAU would help me out with that, but I still don't know all that much... ^^; )

UTAU could help you identify the notes. you could draw the note where you want it and just listen to the UTAU sing "a" on key :)

Well, it could be that you didnt select what you wanted to play (if you selected it, the notes will turn pink) or it could be a totally different problem.

Is your computer locale set to Japanese?

Yes, and i clicked select all notes. so there doesn't need to be a problem. but it really doesn't play.

Did you download UTAU before or after you set your computer to Japanese locale. It could be that some of the voicebanks' wave file names are messed up. Only if they have hiragana names for their waves like Teto, Momo, Defoko, and many more voicebanks made in Japan. When you look in the folder, is their hiragana/Japanese or random gibberish signs?

If that's the case, delete everything except the romaji voicebanks you want to save (that means you have to uninstall UTAU), (Your computer is set to Japanese locale) then redownload UTAU and all of the hiragana voicebanks that you want.

I hope that this helps :)
